I had a blast at the Toronto Indie Author Conference last weekend (April 26–27), where I connected with some truly amazing creatives. The energy in the room was inspiring, and I walked away with so much more than I expected. I sat in on workshops that completely challenged my perspective on publishing, deepened my understanding of the business side of being indie, and opened my eyes to areas I didn’t even know I needed to explore.
Because I attended as a regular attendee, I was able to experience the event more as a writer than an author—and that shift let me absorb things in a deeper, more personal way. It reminded me how important it is to stay curious, keep learning, and stay grounded in the craft.
